Shades of grey are very fashionable at the moment, whether it's confined to the bedroom walls or a single piece such as an armchair (if you have space in your bedroom) or ultimately, an upholstered bed. Large dark wooden beds with contrasting light, crisp linen balanced with understated additional bedroom furniture are a firm favourite of mine. Perhaps you are considering using a brighter, bolder or darker colour on the walls but you are concerned that this will make the bedroom too dark? A top tip is to use high gloss paint, which reflects a great deal of light, bringing your room back to life.
Why not match with lighter coloured furniture, floorboards or carpeting? Next on my project portfolio will be polished concrete floors, in a neutral, warm shade with a light rug in the middle of the room for warmth and to add texture to the room. This flooring option is cost effective, striking but complementary to any bedroom design and practical and light reflective.
