Whenever we think of decorating a bedroom, we ought to first of all have a particular look or theme in your mind. Then everything, from furniture, scheme, color fabric patterns, window dressing to lighting or accessories should revolve around that. Here are some modern bedroom decor ideas.
The bedroom decor should match with the rest of the house. It should not compete with it. When you hire an interior designer to decorate home, ensure that he/she also does the bedroom. Pick a new place for your computer and other electronics. Electronics have no place in the bedroom since they interrupt your sleep and they prevent you from having restorative sleep. You should, even, consider banishing your cell phone from your bedroom.
An important point to consider is that you should not feel confined to buying matching bedroom sets. I recently sourced mahogany French style reproduction furniture with an oriental influence, which allowed me to furnish the room with additional contemporary and Persian pieces. The resulting effect is striking and unique without being overbearing. Oak, ash, mahogany and pine beds are a classic choice and timeless.
The bed is essentially the centerpiece of a bedroom and inarguably the most important furniture in the room. While it may be tempting to get a huge king-size bed for your bedroom, it will take away from the aesthetics of the room, as a single piece of furniture will consume most of the space available. Instead, you can get a comfortable queen-size bed and place it against the wall, so that the space in the middle of the room is not broken.
