The bed is essentially the centerpiece of a bedroom and inarguably the most important furniture in the room. While it may be tempting to get a huge king-size bed for your bedroom, it will take away from the aesthetics of the room, as a single piece of furniture will consume most of the space available. Instead, you can get a comfortable queen-size bed and place it against the wall, so that the space in the middle of the room is not broken.
It's obvious that when you have limited space, you have to have furniture that isn't too bulky. Make sure that what you will be putting in is proportional to the space. Before buying new furniture, try to measure the space first. Make a floor plan and allot a space for every furniture piece you will be including. Get the exact dimensions and make sure you will be purchasing an item that fits right into the space you have provided. For small bedrooms, try to avoid bulky wardrobes and use space-saving cabinets. You can also opt for a platform bed set that comes with storage cabinets to maximize its functionality.
Shades of grey are very fashionable at the moment, whether it's confined to the bedroom walls or a single piece such as an armchair (if you have space in your bedroom) or ultimately, an upholstered bed. Large dark wooden beds with contrasting light, crisp linen balanced with understated additional bedroom furniture are a firm favourite of mine. Perhaps you are considering using a brighter, bolder or darker colour on the walls but you are concerned that this will make the bedroom too dark? A top tip is to use high gloss paint, which reflects a great deal of light, bringing your room back to life.
People have different tastes and therefore they have a number of varying opinions about a specific kind of decor. As a thumb rule, if you can find the right kind of decor inspiration, you will be well on your way to a classic room decor that you love. So how do we start? Well, I do not know exactly what's your room like and how would you want it to be. But still, there's one thing you can always do in every room.
